Pros

Large workforce, many good people in the company.

Cons

The corporate goals do not match line management activities.

Company endorses innovation. But line managers punish innovation.

Corporate endorses encouraging wild ducks. Line management punishes failures.

Company stock and value will continue to decline as long as individuals are treated with contempt and low value.

Advice to Management

Realize that managers are the gatekeepers, and risk-taking makes a manager look bad.

Innovation will continue to be non-existent as long as individual contributors are at the mercy of managers who only care about their own advancement. Pay attention to those managers who lose employees every year and who always recommend resources for the RAs. You'll quickly identify these self-serving managers.
