Demands were low on me personally. It felt like exceeding expectations was rather easy just by being competent. I found it easy to gain recognition and move up in the company simply by being around and competent. Work-life balance was great, and the pay was solid.
Organization and documentation were poor. Hiring is a massive mixed bag. Working across three time zones in a team led to dysfunction.
Churn led to massive creep in my role over a short period of time, to the extent that by being semi-competent, I was teaching dozens of people how to do their job after approximately two years. The office is no-frills; don't expect anything fancy.
It was a two-step process. First, there was a written test based on analytical skills. Then, there was a one-on-one interview. This was to see how good I was with the concepts of Java and XML.
Starts with general questions, followed by three technical problems. The general questions are bq, experience, etc. The technical problems are algorithms and SQL. All technical problems are elementary and do not need extra preparation.
This was a very simple interview process. There was a personal interview and two one-on-one technical interviews. The basics were asked, as it was an entry-level job.
