Pros

Large company, lots of room to join different groups.

Bound to have very competent, intelligent people working alongside you.

No myth about bureaucratic processes dragging down development.

Most managers are very flexible about work-life balance.

Many career development opportunities and perks that only a large company could offer.

Jobs being outsourced.

Cons

Lots of lifers, particularly management who have no clue about life outside of IBM.

Lots of layoffs, even while the company is doing okay. IBM hides layoffs as resource actions to avoid having to report. 5,000 people can apply for 5 open jobs.

Advice to Management

Trust your employees more. Don't treat us like school children. Stop outsourcing the jobs. It's going to come back to haunt IBM in terms of quality.
