Pros

Lots of talented people, interesting projects, and some cool technology (usually acquired).

Cons
  • Unethical. Instead of laying off people, the company engages in shady tactics to force people to resign so that layoffs don't need to be announced. Primary among them is relocating your job to another city/country and then expecting you to move or find new employment at IBM, which is next to impossible to get.
  • Hoodwinking employees with a constant barrage of DEI in the US while cutting jobs and exporting jobs overseas to India as the solution.
  • Cheap, nickle-and-diming employees for the sake of stock price.
  • Promotions, raises, and bonuses are increasingly rare.
  • Software development practices are archaic.
