A solid technology company with a very strong research arm to inspire and challenge the engineering community within IBM.
Sadly, the company of old had to change in order to remain competitive with the explosive technology changes. Middle management no longer climbs the corporate ladder; rather, they swing from one limb to the next to make it to the top.
This leads to a huge disconnect with the wonderful low-level employees who are content focusing on and doing their job well. Teams are left short-handed, yet the deadlines are rarely relaxed.
