IBM has allowed me to have many unique roles in my 20+ years here. I've been able to gain skills and work with some of the most amazing people in the industry. IBM is a wonderfully broad and flexible company. I have more flexibility in working from home and flex hours than all of my friends at other companies.
Sometimes IBM can be its own worst enemy. Lots of reorgs and realignments can be unsettling at times.
Continue to value the experience and knowledge that exists in this amazing company. There's room for new talent and experienced IBMers to take us to the next level. Both are necessary for a healthy balance and for success.
IBM normally only hires new college graduates from selected universities. If you are an experienced engineer, you need to have specialized skills or know somebody within to have a chance to get hired.
I visited a website I had never heard of for a video interview. The interviewer was nice and asked a range of computer science questions that were neither basic nor difficult.
Here's a breakdown of the typical interview process: * Submit your CV. * Interview with different people. * Interview with a manager. * Test your knowledge with exercises. * Wait for an answer. * Check the proposed salary. * Send your documentation
