Pros

I love my team and my work.

Cons
  • Continuous cost-saving measure from IBM.

  • Compared to our company before acquisition by IBM:

    • No Christmas dinner, no free annual team lunch.
    • Increased working hours from 7.5 to 8 hours.
    • Families with children have to pay $380/year to get 80% of extended health insurance (we paid $0 to get 90% before IBM).
    • Annual layoff in March, regardless of double-digit sales increases in our division.
    • No more training that costs money; only free online training is allowed.
  • Company earnings are more important than employees.

  • Many tedious processes, such as having to take the same online security course every year and the online Business Conduct Guidelines course every year.

Advice to Management

Having a family with children pay $380 per year to get 80% of extended health insurance is unfair. Most good companies don't do that.
