Middle management can't budget the time/effort against their immediate responsibilities and projects for the team. Yet without such support, internal projects and true innovation cannot materialize.
IBM is a mixed bag of corporate processes, policies, and work cultures. This seems to have happened due to the large volume of acquisitions all coming together but never unifying. Granted, it would be a significant cost to make such a huge unification, but it does make it hard to navigate as an employee with the way it currently is.
Total of 5 rounds of interviews: 1 managerial, 3 technical, and 1 HR. The interviews mainly focused on the area for which you were going to be hired. The managerial round will get the crux of your knowledge on the area, satisfying their needs.

I was provided a test to help demonstrate my ability to write and edit. Fair, straight, adequate. They asked questions about background, commitments, and willingness to go the distance for a project.
