I interviewed for the IBM z/VM systems team, working for their virtualization team.
Most of the questions were behavioral. Some questions covered background and projects, and also the Linux kernel.

Pros: Stable work-life balance with a strange hint of overtime that includes weekends.
New technology usage is encouraged.
Good place to make early career/rookie mistakes and not get burnt by it.
Cons: Sub-standard salary as per the market. As far as San Jose, CA is concerned, I live paycheck to paycheck despite performing very well consistently.
Slow personal growth.
Management in NY looks at you as a number. If you underperform, they will let you go or simply move you to a different location to save costs.

Old Company Trying to be Young

Pros: Good work-life balance in most teams. IBM is trying hard to innovate in cloud, so there are many good projects to work on in that area.
Cons: Non-transparent management team. There is a clear sense of the old hierarchy system at work. Much information does not get passed down, and employees do not get much of a say in important decisions.
