Nothing much in terms of pros, except work-life balance, remote work flexibility, and a few show-off bombastic technologies. These are hampered by poor team management and team structure skills.
Pathetic senior management. They don’t understand the value of different roles and technologies and think themselves as “IBMer” as someone having God-level software engineering skills. Leads and managers don’t even know how to manage resources properly. You would be randomly assigned to a project where you will be randomly asked to work in any skillset, no matter your background. For example, a dev might be directly assigned to DevOps work all of a sudden, without any training or KT. A SDET might be assigned to development all of a sudden, without KT. An SDE might be assigned to manual testing all of a sudden, and then again a change from that role to another role in the next sprint. Now, if they are unable to perform, they will be abused by some managers saying, “You should learn and grow.” Let me tell you this: “learn and grow” means learning new technology within your technology domain, not changing domains all of a sudden and then again changing in the next three months. One will end up becoming a Jack of all trades but a “Master of None.” Change is good, but not from sprint to sprint. No salary hikes; you will retire with the same CTC with which you joined. Team management and team structure are the poorest I have ever seen, worst than a lot of small startup companies even. Unstructured projects; managers think about short-term goals only. Almost no managers know what the role of “SDET” is, but they hired SDETs. Alas! Costly medical facility with not much benefit.
Managers, please train yourselves not in new technology but in general team management skills. Your companies' managers lack team management skills.
I'll start from my application date. I applied to IBM from the NXTwave CCBP program at IB hubs. There were four rounds: * Coding Assessment * Cognitive Ability Assessment * English Language Test * Interviews Fifteen days after my applicati
Quite good, very fluid, and with constant feedback. The interviewers were very kind and informed us of the next steps at all times. They were very kind with the way they asked questions. There is also a section where the interview is conducted with
Round 1: Online HackerRank test - difficulty level: High. This cannot be done unless you have actual knowledge in the technology. Round 2: Technical Interview - You will be asked to share your screen and write code in Notepad. This lasted around one
