Frontend Engineer Interview Experience - Austin, Texas
Process
Probably the worst experience I have ever had. I was brought on-site twice for two different teams and had close to ten phone screens.
My first recruiter left the company halfway through the first process.
The on-sites are typical in some ways to other enterprise-level companies, but they are looking for a very specific, cookie-cutter engineer. You better be able to write error-free, executable code from memory under pressure without any leads.
I forgot the signature that promises use and resorted to pseudocode to work through the problem, not expecting that they were docking me for it before I had worked through the problem.
All in all, they dragged this whole process out over three months. In the end, it all came down to some guy passing judgment because he thought I didn't know how to resolve promises. They didn't even ask.
They may help people get jobs, as long as it's not there. No wonder they are having a hard time finding good front-end engineers.
Questions
Write an async queuing function that executes functions put in a queue. Between each function execution, wait 50 milliseconds.

Indeed's culture was too nice, and SLT wouldn't put their foot down and address the problem. Instead, they gave toxic people blank checks to go on hiring sprees, duplicating efforts and teams in the process. Some parts of the company are extremely slow-moving. I'm talking 1+ month to add a button to a UI. It's laughable it takes that long, but I'm not joking. Indeed had a competitive edge at one point; they squandered that lead, and now other startups are coming to eat their lunch. I give Indeed 5-10 years before they go the way of Monster.com.
