Here's the interview process:

• Cold call from technical sourcer
• Intro call with sourcer
• Timed HackerRank test
• Technical phone screen
• 8-hour onsite with 13 different people

Up until the onsite, it was par for the course as far as technical interviews go. The onsite is a unique format: resume deep-dive, architecture, two whiteboarding algorithm/data structure interviews, a code review interview, and a 90-minute programming exercise on HackerRank. I appreciated Indeed's motivation to move beyond the 4-5 hour algorithm/data structure whiteboarding gauntlet, but it does make for an exhausting day.

I've done many onsites at many companies, including Google, Microsoft, and Facebook. My onsite at Indeed was one of my strongest interviews, and I haven't heard back. Frankly, I'm pretty perturbed at the recruiter, as I put in 10 hours of interviews, not counting time spent preparing.
