Process

The interview process involved a phone screen, a HackerRank coding challenge, a technical coding interview, and then an onsite interview.

The onsite interview lasted approximately six hours, consisting mostly of whiteboarding algorithm problems, but also included some system-level debugging. I was provided with food from their cafeteria (which was acceptable) and allowed to take anything from their snack and drink selection (which was wonderful). Most interviewers were quite attentive, although the interviewer for my last session was clearly tired. They offered assistance when I needed a push but also allowed me to work through problems independently.

The phone interviews began within five minutes of the scheduled time. They flew me out to Austin with a direct flight and booked me a king-sized bed. I received a transportation fee stipend (for Uber, etc.) and a food stipend.

The recruiting team was likely the best aspect of the experience. They were flexible and collaborated with me to simplify the process. The coordinator for my onsite interview was fantastic and also provided a tour of the facility.

Several days later, I received a message indicating they were moving forward with me. We scheduled a time to discuss the offer, which surpassed my expectations. I will begin working with them soon.

My impression is that Indeed is actively working to improve its offerings and compete with major companies for talented employees. This is beneficial, as it translates to highly competitive pay and excellent amenities for engineers.
