Process

I went through a campus recruitment event, which involved two steps:

  • A 30-minute technical screen on campus.
  • A 4-round onsite interview.

The screen question was easy, so there's nothing special to discuss. The interviewers were very nice.

For the onsite interviews, there were three 1-hour whiteboarding sessions. I would say the questions were at least mid-level. All interviewers were nice and willing to communicate. I enjoyed working with them on solving those questions, and I could really tell the collaborative culture of Indeed from those interviews.

The last round was a 1.5-hour HackerRank challenge. I would say it's mid-level too. I was able to pass the basic tests but definitely timed out on all scalability tests.

Based on all my interactions with the recruiter, I think he is one of the best HR people I have known so far in my life – super nice and responsive with a great personality. He did his best to send us feedback because some of us had offer deadlines.

Indeed offered both breakfast and lunch that day and let alumni join us to answer questions. I am glad I got the offer because I really want it based on all my experience with Indeed.
