Software Engineer Interview Experience - Singapore, Singapore

Process

The process began with a live coding round, followed by an onsite interview. Unfortunately, the interviewers lacked knowledge in the subject matter. I never quite understood the type of candidates they were seeking. They seemed to be looking for individuals who would simply "throw away" answers. If you attempted to discuss a solution with them, they would perceive it as a lack of knowledge on your part.

First and foremost, design questions are open-ended, and there is no single perfect answer. Honestly, I felt let down by the interviewers. The company should not waste candidates' time if they are merely looking to pass the time. Instead, they should engage in real programming work.

I work for one of the world's highest-paying companies, and I still agreed to interview because a recruiter was pleasant. However, the interviews were a disappointment.

Dear interviewers, it is very easy to judge and not hire people. If you approach interviews with a mindset of not hiring, please do not waste candidates' time. Use your time on some real work instead. And remember, you may have started one of the world's biggest companies, but you are just a normal worker at a small company.
