Process

Communication began with a call requesting an interview. All other details were communicated by email, which was very clear and provided all necessary information, such as the job title, time, and venue for the interview, and documents to bring along.

It was a one-time interview, and I was interviewed by two senior tech leads/managers from the team. The interview lasted for a few hours.

Initial questions involved introducing myself and discussing my strengths and accomplishments. From my perception, this was for the interviewers to get to know me better and to test my vocabulary skills.

After this, the interviewers proceeded to ask about my final year degree project. Following that, it was mostly technical, focusing on the project, programming languages, and analytical thinking questions to assess if I could think quickly and come up with the best solutions to problems presented.

Questions

An unexpected question during the interview was that the interviewers were hands-on. They provided questions that required analytical thinking and the development of software programs to address them. The unexpected part was that all of this had to be done on a whiteboard, not on paper. The interviewers were looking at details such as comments, coding structure, feasibility, and the long-term maintenance of the code.
