Quality and Reliability Engineer Interview Experience - Folsom, California

Process

Two phone interviews, then a day onsite with individual interview sessions with various managers and team members.

The final day of interviews featured mostly irrelevant questions outside of my skillset, so I did not answer appropriately.

Questions

The quality of the interview questions varied wildly by interviewer.

Two of the interviewers asked generic "tell me about yourself" type questions, with nothing particularly noteworthy.

One interviewer asked in-depth technical questions on semiconductor HW design. While interesting, these were completely outside the scope of my experience and the relevant responsibilities of the role.

Another interviewer gave me a math quiz. It could have been easily solved if I had a calculator, but it involved calculations I don't remember how to do by hand. It was also not particularly relevant to the role, as this was a test development role, not a statistician role.

One interviewer, who was an engineer on the actual team, was the only one who asked relevant technical questions. However, I had to correct them a couple of times, as it was obvious what answer they were looking for, but they had asked the question incorrectly.
