Pros

Decent pay with average benefits and vacation days.

Flexible work schedule and the ability to work from home.

Restricted stock units if you perform well.

Cons

Working in the operational side of manufacturing, be prepared to WORK and put in long hours. I was on-call for the factory every 4 weeks or so for a week at a time.

Had to work just about every holiday to support changes in the factory.

Nobody outside the infrastructure group really understands what you do (other than support everything that's on the network) so it's a very thankless job.

Advice to Management

Be willing to re-think how you handle infrastructure services as a whole.

Take risks (this is supposed to be an Intel value) on how to approach handling building up the infrastructure, i.e. private cloud.

Totally re-work the Ranking and Review process (or get rid of it entirely) as this is a process that drains morale, puts personal accomplishments ahead of what's truly best for the group/company, and takes away time from more important matters (like supporting an entire factory with low headcount).
