Pros

You can build a career here. Lots of teams with a wide variety of hardware and software domains offer the ability to move around every few years to build a breadth of skills and keep things interesting. The U.S. needs a leading-edge domestic semiconductor manufacturer like Intel to succeed. Intel is moving in the right direction by splitting the company into ProdCo (for products) and FabCo (for fabs).

Cons

Crazy boom/bust hiring swings, which leadership never seems to learn from. Despite trying to be lean and agile, it's still a behemoth that moves too slow. Benefits were cut to the bone after the most recent people actions.
