Pros

As a contractor, I am paid a decent hourly rate. Not enough to make up for lacking any basic benefits such as paid sick days, though.

Some managers will let you work from home.

Intel looks great on your resume.

Cons

Green badges (contractors) are treated as second-class citizens. This is very poor for morale. Most contractors get no benefits at all, not even paid sick days. So, they work when sick and feel punished when holidays roll around. Poor communication from the top and vague objectives lead to unnecessary iterations and rushed timelines.

Advice to Management

Intel attracts many talented programmers, and it is a shame to see them leave for jobs that provide basic things like paid sick days. Due to the turnaround of people, code is fragile and unreadable at best.
