Backend Software Engineer II Interview Experience - San Diego, California

Process

I was referred and contacted almost immediately by a recruiter.

I had an initial phone call and was told my resume would be passed on to the hiring manager. I was also told I would hear back within a day or two.

It's now been weeks, and I've sent a few follow-ups but have never heard anything back from them. This is very unprofessional, as they didn't even respond with any sort of updates.

I'm especially frustrated because the recruiter had to reschedule our initial phone call after I had already set aside time. I then needed to set aside time on a different day.

The least that could occur is a courtesy notification, such as: "We're sorry you didn't make the cut," or "The position is closed." Instead, to completely ignore a candidate who worked around the recruiter's schedule is very unprofessional.

I have always held this company in high regard. I know multiple people who work there and express how much they like the company, and now my view has completely changed.

Don't waste your time applying because you aren't going to get anywhere.
