Cons: Still have the "re-org" word each year. Intuit Edmonton's management and promotion is too political. You need to get into the right project under the right team at the right time. There are some managers who are really good leaders; they will help your career path. Intuit Edmonton has some managers or directors who are not leaders, but bosses. They are promoting much faster than developers who have done more work in the same team. Micromanagement during 1-on-1s just slows down developers' promotion. Promotion depends on working years, but not productivity or contributions. Switching dev teams is hard and needs political decisions based on managers' bias, which is not a product decision or by team requirements.
