Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Tel Aviv-Yafo, Israel

Process
I applied online and interviewed at Intuit.
Interview Process Steps:
- Interview with the recruiter.
- Interview with the team leader. She talked about the company and the team, I introduced myself, and we discussed basic modeling questions.
- A set of interviews:
- They asked me to create and present a presentation. This included a self-presentation and a professional achievement presentation with technical details and impact.
- Technical interview: A few questions about data modeling and Java behavior. It was challenging to understand the restrictions of the questions as they were developed based on my answers and were not prescribed.
- Cultural-functional interview.
- Hiring Manager interview.
Even if you pass all these steps, it does not guarantee a job offer. Without any real reason, I was declined at the proposal stage without a good explanation. Red flag...
Questions
Java questions and data modeling.

The pay and benefits are great if you can deal with the BS
Senior Software Engineer • Current Employee
January 29, 2014
Pros: - Pay and benefits started out way above and beyond expectations, but have paired down a bit for newcomers.
- Never, ever bored; there are always new things coming up to work on.
- Your co-workers will be your only allies.
Cons: No teams seem to know who does what across the organization; if something breaks, everyone gets a call at 2 AM.
Product Owners don't really take ownership of their products or even bother to learn how they work.
Finances are not the most enthralling topic, but I knew this going in.
The technology stack is ancient, and you need to be lucky enough to get onto a team trying to move away from it; you will never have priority over the flagship products, however.
Your QAs positions will be shipped overseas. This will be branded as 'internationalization,' but the quality is subpar, communication is delayed by 12 hours, and your team will suffer.
You will have late nights all year, but more so in the January-April time-frame. It's expected if your systems are even remotely involved with the tax business.

Company community and events are well planned and active. Mobility across subsidiaries within Intuit is encouraged and straightforward. Benefits are excellent. Days in office are flexible (depending on team).
Cons: Required minimum of 2 days/week in office
