Software Engineer Interview Experience

Process

I spoke with them at my university's job fair and was contacted about a week later to schedule an initial 30-minute technical interview. It went pretty well. I was asked questions based on my resume, including small coding challenges related to its content. For example, I was asked about the algorithm for the Fibonacci sequence, binary search trees (BSTs), and UNIX commands.

I passed that and moved on to a 30-minute behavioral interview about another week later. I heard that normally they conduct these two interviews back-to-back, but they separated them with the technical interview first to accommodate more candidates. The behavioral interview focused on leadership experience and teamwork.

Questions

Nothing was particularly difficult or unexpected. What could be unexpected are the behavioral questions that are asked, but as long as you prepare some stories of situations you've handled or resolved, it'll be all right.
