The interview was for candidates with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Automation testing with QTP.

The first round was a face-to-face technical interview. There were two people on the panel. The questions were more about providing solutions for some automation scenarios. With prior automation experience, those were not very difficult to answer. I answered all their questions, explaining the solutions theoretically rather than writing them down on paper.

Overall, they seemed very impressed with the interview, and I was confident too. However, the HR later said that I was not as per their expectations. I am currently an Automation Lead on my project and told them that I spend half my time on management activities. I think they wanted someone with more technical expertise rather than someone who could lead a team.
