You get two HackerRank questions. While slightly difficult, they aren't too bad. I didn't complete them yet, but was called for the assessment centre interviews. This consisted of two 45-minute interviews. One was personal, about yourself and strengths, and the other was a quiz on your technical experience, where you get asked about OOP, polymorphism, and computer science concepts.

This is where my interview went downhill. Now, I do take responsibility in that I didn't prepare for it, and I unfortunately memorized these concepts two years ago and have not looked at them since, so yes, very much my fault.

However, the interviewer was difficult to understand, and so I answered questions that I did know wrong because I misunderstood half of what he was saying. Which again, probably my fault, but then when I realized what he wanted and I tried to correct myself, he was not interested. Which, fair enough, the interviews have limited time.

However, at one point, while trying to prove that I obviously do know Git (I didn't hear him say 'version control' initially and just waffled some answer based on what I did hear), he laughed at me and said, 'Don't get upset' in a very demeaning way.

Honestly, the first guy interviewing me was quite awkward but fine. But the second guy... yikes. They really prove the stereotype of software engineers having no social skills. So, I mean, if you can deal with grown men lacking social skills and manners, you'll be fine.
