QA Engineer (Automation/Selenium) Interview Experience - Bengaluru, Karnataka

Process

Pathetic interview experience.

First round was taken by a very inexperienced panel who asked really basic questions about Selenium and Automation. Most of the questions sounded like they were "by-hearted" by the panel. The panel does not know what the requirement is for, and sometimes even do not know where the interview is taking place.

Even the required skill set was mentioned wrong in the job description (Jherkins????).

I think they just want to show off that they also have requirements and they perform automated testing (which is apparently not the case).

I suspect that even the members of the interview panel were hired for a weekend. You can get to know this if you ask two simple questions back to them:

  • What is your expectation from me?
  • Which project am I going to work on?

Questions

  1. Google for Selenium FAQs. Don't worry if you answer wrong, as the panel themselves do not know the answers clearly. No need to know code, as they will never ask you to write code. Don't expect logical questions, as there is no requirement at all here.
