Senior Software Engineer Interview Experience - Bengaluru, Karnataka

Process

Interview process started on time, technically strong, all real-time questions. But I rejected the offer due to the below story: "Worst Ever cheat on the day of offer".

I am 13 years experienced. I had called for an interview with JPMC Bangalore. It went well.

HR called me for salary negotiation, and she came up with a number (25% hike) which was below my expectation, and I communicated the same.

After a week, she called me again and came up with a number (30%) which was mid-range of my expectation and above the previous number.

We had mutually agreed on the number, and I confirmed my joining. Then she told me that she would roll out the offer in three days.

I was awaiting their mail/call. On the third day, she called me and said higher management didn't agree to roll out with 30%, and they had given only a 10% hike.

I was surprised. "You had come up with the number without being approved by higher management? Is it your own number? Does recruitment HR have the ability to ask the higher management? How can you roll out some number and on the day of the offer, you had reduced the number which was communicated to the "so-called interviewed person"?"

Don't we have some respect for an experienced person before you had rolled out the number for mutual agreement? How does it make one believe in JPMC?

I can suggest whoever goes for an interview, please ask for the salary negotiation and what they can pay you maximum before you waste a couple of hours with JPMC and being cheated like this.
