An employee of JPMC referred my candidature. I received an invitation for a personal discussion at JPMC, Hyderabad. The discussion lasted for a brief 30 minutes and mostly covered my potential areas of Testing, automation, DevOps, and accomplishments.
The discussion went over the practical gaps found with the implementation of DevOps across orthodox companies and the kind of strategic implementation to be adopted in terms of people, process, and tools. I nailed it perfectly. :)
After another month, my resume went for further screening with onshore folks over a bridge call.
After some progress, they said that they were considering my candidature for a Business Analyst role.
He also mentioned that they were looking for a PM with a strong QA background. Being a potential BI resource and having quality experience working as an SDET, I evaluated it as a good opportunity and agreed to proceed with the discussion.
(It was surprising that they weren't sure about the role for which I was being considered).
Being a strong potential certified & experienced PM & QA guy, I always felt that my candidature exactly matches the requirement they were looking for.
The interviewer wasn't particularly focused on my working experience or background, but he was keen on ensuring that my skill set and experience matched the requirements they were looking for. The discussion covered general BA activities, including preparing Use Cases, User Stories, ER diagrams, FFDs, TDDs, and FDDs. I had to explain the difference between the Waterfall method and the Agile model to defend my statement about why I wasn't working with Use Cases/User Scenarios but rather user stories. Fortunately, he accepted my answers positively and thanked me for detailing the agile delivery. He mentioned that he was qualifying me for another round of discussion with another person who is a PM.
