A nice place to work in a troubled economy
- Stable bank in an unstable economy.
- Complex environment (IT-wise), a nice place to pick up skills in a short time: "baptism by fire."
- IT management has some of the best in breed people.
- Too much work, too few people.
- Outsourced like crazy – get people who can speak the language.
- Timelines stuffed down the throat of middle management; everything needs to be done in two weeks, no matter how big or how small.
- Increase headcount where required.
- Treat people as employees, not resources.
- Better compensation: Salary may not be the only factor to boost employee morale.
- Outsourcing is okay, but look at the quality of people we are adding. We end up with more problems than we can solve on account of outsourcing (and I'm an immigrant!).
