Pros

Pretty good pay for an easy-to-get internship position. If you want some good experience but aren't brushed up enough on technical interview questions (or don't have enough development history), this is an excellent option.

Warning: if you're working in Chicago, don't go with the overly-priced housing they suggest in the Loop. Work some Craigslist magic or something and get a cheaper place.

The level of challenge really depends on what team you're placed on. Mine was clearly on the easier side of things, but I know some interns who had to work some nights.

Cons

It likely won't be as challenging as a position at an actual tech company.

They repeat all summer that JPMorgan is a tech company (which on a shallow level might be considered true), but it really isn't going to get you involved in anything cutting edge.

There will be some paper pushing. It's very bureaucratic to get the tools to get anything done.

Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing and reach some level of agreement on the level of challenge an intern should have. The spread is simply too high.
