Big Company, which has plenty of money to invest in you and its products. The IT/SWE Department is moving everything to the cloud. They will pay for your AWS and Kubernetes certification.
Mandatory 3 days in office. They have dashboards that tell you your 12-week percentage.
Open seating arrangement where desks are side by side with no dividers. The office gets REALLY loud!
Everyone is only looking out for themselves, and it doesn't seem like you are a team. Co-workers backstab each other and give very little knowledge transfer to one another. Even management is too busy brown-nosing their managers. They provide no time for your 1x1s. If you are good at "stealing the stage" when in a group setting, this place is for you, as you will have a lot of career opportunities, even if you have no idea what's going on on your project.
No diversity in the IT/SWE department. The company promotes a diversity and inclusive environment on paper, but in IT, it is not diverse! The majority here are from Southern Asia (India), as this company does sponsor for H1B. They stick to their own and keep to themselves. Even sitting in the open space, you will hear many conversations in their foreign language. Where is the inclusion if the majority are Indian, and only keep to themselves and exclude you because you are not their own and don't speak their language? It is very obvious discrimination happens when hiring, as they hire the majority who are Indian.
A lot of teams are disorganized. They don't truly follow Agile, even though they claim they do. There are no official architect diagrams or documentation. Everything will be based on your ability to not give out information you know and keep knowledge to yourself.
Medical insurance isn't that great.
Increase diversity at a team level.
