Employee concerns, such as family issues or any medical emergency within the family, are not being considered by senior management. Instead, they ask you to apply for leave, and if you don't have any in balance, it will be leave without pay.
So, overall work-life balance is not possible.
Please listen to employees' family concerns and allow them to work from home so that they can manage financial as well as family issues.
Don't make rules that a person who is outside the UK is allowed to work from home from the UK only. Come on, if you follow that much diversity, then allow them to work from anywhere so that they can take care of their family members during medical and critical illnesses.
