Pros

My experience is specifically with the Mobile Banking team:

  • Learn with the best industry-standard IT management tools in a process-optimized environment.
  • Learn to work with dispersed teams using state-of-the-art communication tools.
  • Be surrounded by brilliant, project-focused people who work at a relentless pace.
  • Learn from a delivery-focused, metrics-driven schedule with tight releases.
  • Treated as a professional with reasonable work-from-home allowances and flexible schedules.
Cons
  • Expect weekend work and a high-pressure work environment.
  • Minimal onboarding, where most people are too busy to train new employees.
  • Large offshore component, and communications can make collaboration challenging.
  • Little interaction between teams, with very segmented and narrow roles.
  • Little team building, and a cramped office in a fringe SOMA location.
Advice to Management

Improve your onboarding and work facilities to compete with other IT companies in the area.

Create an innovation team to keep good employees engaged when projects get cancelled.
