Pros

The only benefit was work-life balance.

Cons

I joined Juniper after they acquired the startup where I had worked for 8 years. They couldn't offer permanent employment because they have no presence in Ukraine, so I was hired as a contractor under a B2B model. This arrangement included no bonuses, career development opportunities, growth potential, paid vacation days, or sick leave.

During the first 1.5 years, I experienced regular salary delays of up to 3-4 weeks. The company used two intermediary HR firms for my employment.

After 4 years, they terminated my contract, along with that of another senior engineer from Ukraine, as they were unable to renew our contracts just in the middle of the full-scale war with Russia, forcing me to look for a job under harsh conditions.

Advice to Management

Find a way to permanently employ people from various countries.
