Process
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 weeks.
- Intro phone call
- Phone screen with manager
- Linux interview
- 4 virtual interviews (would have been 3, but they threw in an extra one)
I told them I had a timeline so they moved very quickly.
Questions
Linux grep/sed/awk, debugging EC2 instance, write a class that accomplishes a conceptual problem (not algo / DS pop quiz style thankfully), fleet management, culture fit / behavioral

Good people, near total chaos

Pros: Tons of motivated, talented, and friendly people. A mission-driven, collaborative environment. Top-shelf compensation.
Cons: Seemingly endless changes to executive leadership, sales strategy, and marketing outlook. Lambda lives in an intensely competitive and rapidly-changing market. The half-life of work product is the shortest that I have ever seen. This company wears a lot of good people out in a short period of time. Very bad work-life balance. Management baldly favors cheerleaders and workaholics.

Pros: - Lots of people to learn from, and basically every engineer has a PhD or left a PhD program.
- Management gives people lots of autonomy, decision-making power, and responsibility.
- I have never worked on a project that didn't feel high impact.
Cons: Hours are sometimes long, though compared to other start-ups that I've worked at, it's quite balanced.
