Pros
  • Upper management cares, but might be too out of touch with the day-to-day reality to really do anything.
  • Snacks and food program.
  • Transparency and genuine honesty from upper management.
Cons
  • The work flow is erratic and extremely stressful. You never know what to expect, and things are constantly changing.
  • A weak commission structure. We work really hard and are not compensated properly. Other depts must approve your loans for issuance, so you have very little control in your own commission structure.
  • Strict adherence guidelines. Be prepared to be worried about having to get up to go to the bathroom or get a drink of water. You will be monitored and docked appropriately.
  • Strict Quality Assurance guidelines that are often mysterious and confusing. Realistic training for QA is not given.
  • Zero room for advancement, even though you are constantly told there are opportunities. If you are in an entry level role, it is near impossible to work your way up.
Advice to Management

Realize that the company's culture has radically shifted since Renaud's departure, and not for the better. Where employees once felt valued, they feel overworked and undercompensated. Where employees once felt pride in what they were doing, they now feel confusion. The stress of the job combined with the intensity of the metrics are often unbearable, making many reps feel anxious or even inducing panic attacks. There is very little support from management. It is especially alarming because many of us were sold on the idea that we would be enjoying a startup culture, but Customer Development is working so hard that we barely have room to breathe, let alone enjoy any perks.
