It wasn't really an interview. The interviewer wasn't really prepared. The recruiter said I would be interviewed as a mobile engineer, but they sent a full-stack engineer to interview me, who had no idea what I was talking about.
The interviewer instead tried to assess my seniority based on the number of people I had an influence over. They were asking questions about conflict resolution but weren't really interested in the answers, as it appeared they had already made up their mind.
Feedback was passed along directly to the recruiter right after the interview, and the recruiter sent a vague rejection right away, making it appear that they would consider me for other roles.
Overall, it was a pretty negative experience, considering the interviewer cut the interview short. This is ironic, considering that LinkedIn is in the hiring and recruiting business.
Interviewer: Describe a challenging problem you are working on?
Interviewer: Have you had any conflicts at all?
Question posed in a way that assumed I likely wouldn't have any conflicts to talk about. It felt like a rhetorical question because the interviewer was looking for reasons to cut the interview short.
