I had a screening call with an HR representative. I had gone through two technical interviews before I was invited for an on-site interview.
The on-site interview featured a panel of six to seven engineers, followed by the then-CTO.
The CTO asked me a technical question completely irrelevant to the position I was brought in for. Although the question was irrelevant, I was happy to work on it as I found it quite interesting to tackle. As I was expressing my thoughts, he started belittling me. His attitude suggested he believed he was the only genius in the world.
After spending three minutes on this question, he arrogantly stated he didn’t have time and I needed to leave for another interview.
He asked if I had any questions for him. I said no, as I didn’t want to give any value to such a pompous person. I could sense that this individual was impatient and full of arrogance. All the other people were quite talented yet humble.
In the end, I was told that the CTO had mixed up my position with another. As a result, I was asked an irrelevant question.
Lots of simple yet tricky questions on electrical circuit analysis.
