The first step was a screening call with HR and basic questions.

After a week, I did a video call with one of the senior engineers. It included mechanical engineering questions about stress-strain curves and bending, which were fairly easy.

The third step was a panel interview with a total of six managers and senior engineers, plus the director of engineering. It lasted about three to four hours.

There were three sections, each with two people, lasting around an hour. At the end, the director interviewed me.

One of the managers was extremely rude. He arrived late, interrupted the other person interviewing me, and then asked several questions about dates on my resume. He stated he didn't see a relation between my background and the role, so he wouldn't be interviewing me further. I guess he didn't review my resume before my interview, but overall, it was odd. He could have just let the other interviewer continue.

Even though the role description didn't require any experience, I was asked very specific and detailed questions about chassis and structure design. I mentioned that I don't have professional chassis/structure design experience, but they kept asking the same questions.

For one of the basic engineering questions, a senior engineer said my answer was wrong, but a manager said it was correct, creating an awkward moment.

Overall, it was a long process, and I felt the interviewers were unprepared and rushing. It seemed like they were trying to find a seasoned engineer, even though the role description didn't ask for experience.
