Applications Support Engineer Interview Experience - Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Process

The first interview is a digital interview, which asks some questions about visa, GPA, and so on.

The second interview, which I just completed, requires selecting 3 out of 6 parts.

Math is required and takes 15 minutes. It is also strongly suggested to select one from Python or Matlab (30 minutes) and one from Java, C/C++, or JavaScript (30 minutes).

The Matlab part was quite difficult.

Questions

For the MATLAB part, there are questions about:

  • Function precedence order
  • Private functions
  • @Function handles
  • Workspace
  • C source MEX files
  • Repmat
  • Plot (hold on, tic toc)
  • Anonymous functions
  • Concatenating matrices

There are also questions about the results of some MATLAB code and the MATLAB code for given results. I remember most of these questions are related to nested functions.
