The interviewer showed me some code snippets for each of these languages and asked me to explain what the code did and what the output was. He also asked some simple concepts about the language along the way.

Pros: Anyone in the company is empowered to improve current processes.
The hierarchy feels pretty flat, and everyone is very approachable.
Although pretty big, it still has a small, family-like culture.
The company values have real meaning that can be seen throughout the company.
Cons: The only thing I am worried about is preserving the same culture and values as we continue to grow.

EDG is not the place you want to be

Pros: Good name in the industry.
Good compensation.
Motivation to move out from EDG.
Smart peers.
Cons: Management in EDG doesn't care about ASE's career development or learning. All they want to do is save their a** and look good in front of higher management. The program is portrayed as one which gives flexibility and freedom to pursue your interests, but that is rarely the case. Managers start thrusting some stupid timelines and documents on you and will keep wanting you to do more technical support in the name of "Leadership Qualities."
