Applied through a university career fair and received a call within a month.
1st round: Behavioral. 2nd round: Technical coding test on HackerRank, including theoretical questions. 3rd round: Technical interview based on my preference.
Did not make it to the next round.
The first round, Behavioral, was simple. Questions included: "Why Mathworks?", "What is your GPA?", and "Do you need Visa sponsorship?"
The second round was a Coding exercise. You needed to pick any two languages from Java, C, Matlab, or Python. The round involved short coding exercises and theoretical questions on the two chosen languages.
The third round was a Technical interview. I was asked what topic I was most comfortable with: systems, object-oriented programming, or signal processing.
I picked object-oriented programming and was asked theoretical questions about OOP, such as "What is OOP?", "What is the difference between a hash map and a hash table?", and to design a restaurant table booking system using OOP.
I was then asked if I preferred Python or Matlab. I chose Python, and was asked some library-related questions on it.
There were also a few mathematical questions, specifically on geometric progression.
Finally, I was asked about the meaning of O(n).
I did not make it to the next round due to my own mistakes. However, the interview, overall, was not that hard.
