Process

I applied online. This was my fourth time interviewing with Mathworks. I decided to give it another chance as I directly received a call for a technical interview with an American Sr. Software Engineer. He asked relevant, open-ended, and no bogus theoretical questions. It was a pleasant experience. I explained my experiences by giving examples. It went absolutely great. I was moved to the next round.

Then came the real problem. My next telephonic interview was scheduled with an Indian/Desi lady. She asked me to have a conversation about my background, but it ended up with her bombarding me with bogus theoretical questions. For her, the interview was about showing how smart she is and what she wants to hear, rather than showing interest in my skillset and where I could be helpful. For Desi interviewers, if you don't say the exact words they want to hear, then you are out.

After two days, I saw my status changed to "match not ideal this time." I was not surprised. This was my fourth time interviewing with Mathworks, and every time some Desi person interviewed me, with whom I had terrible experiences. It seems Mathworks has now become a place full of uncreative Desi tech engineers. I also noticed similar reviews from other people sharing the same experiences. It seems like it's not so cool a place to work anymore. Not worthy!
