Android Engineer Interview Experience - Menlo Park, California

Process

Referred by a friend, I got a call from a recruiter after 2 days. We then arranged a phone screen. The questions were kind of easy, and I subsequently received an onsite invitation.

There were 5 sessions in one day, with 2 interviewers for each session.

  • Three rounds were pure algorithm coding.
  • One was a behavioral session, which included 20 minutes about work experience and behavioral questions, ending with a coding question.
  • One was an architect session.

It wasn't that difficult; it relied on how familiar you were with the asked questions, how good a solution you could provide, and how elegant your code was.

I received a declined notification after 3 weeks.

Questions

  1. Search for a word with a pattern in a string array.

  2. Find the longest continuous zig-zag subarray in an integer array.
