Process
A recruiter called me to see if I'd be interested in a job on the applications engineering team at Facebook.
After an hour-long conversation, he asked me 10 basic Unix questions, such as "Tell me the command to display the routing table." Then, he submitted my answers to the hiring manager.
I then did a follow-up interview, after which they wanted to bring me in for another interview.
The only problem was that they wanted me to write syntactically correct code on a whiteboard for an hour. Given that I'm not a programmer and I have a job with better benefits than Facebook, I declined the offer.
