Process

A recruiter screen was followed by a 1-hour phone screen consisting of 5 Python and 5 SQL questions. Passing this led to the onsite loop with 4 interviews: 1 behavioral, 2 ETL, and 1 warehouse design.

Recruiters were very helpful, prompt, and friendly throughout the process. It was one of my best interviewing experiences.

Questions

Questions were on using or creating a data warehouse solution. This involved using SQL and Python to build a data pipeline to solve a business problem.

The work itself is generally very good, with teams that empower their employees to come up with their own roadmaps every quarter, allowing for lots of creativity and innovation.

Cons: Like most tech companies, there is an element of top-down decision-making which can make employees feel like they're not always working on what they want to work on. And while I believe Facebook can be a force for good, they are also occasionally a force for bad things in the world, and I don't want my legacy to be that I worked here forever. Luckily, with how great things are around here, it'll take a truly amazing opportunity to get me to leave.
