The issue was that I was interviewed for MLE, but only one system design interview covered anything adjacent to machine learning. The other interviews were arbitrary and oriented around infrastructure. It seemed disorganized.

How to dynamically scale on-prem compute to run a known model. Nothing was asked about designing and building the model.
