The interview process began with two phone screens, one focusing on software development and the other on systems topics, both conducted using CoderPad.io. This was followed by an all-day on-site assessment comprising five interviews:
Each interview lasted approximately 45 minutes, typically concluding a few minutes early to allow time for candidate questions.
A common theme throughout the interviews was the testing of adaptability: interviewers would slightly alter requirements to observe how candidates handled change or offered suggestions to gauge their response to feedback. The problems themselves were not exceptionally difficult, as they usually needed to be solved twice within the 45-minute timeframe. These tasks also served to evaluate collaboration skills and the ability to quickly identify alternative solutions.
Finally, I must extend a significant acknowledgment to the recruiting team at Facebook. The process was exceptionally well-organized. At no point did I feel like I was imposing on anyone I spoke with, and I felt that everyone genuinely wanted to give me a fair opportunity. The recruiters did an excellent job of clearly communicating what to expect and promptly following up with feedback after each stage. This was by far the least stressful and most enjoyable interview experience I've had with a large company.
