A recruiter reached out and briefly went over the role and my resume to ensure it was a fit.
The interview process involved:
- First round phone interviews (1 coding, 1 systems)
- Second round "virtual onsite" (1 coding, 1 behavioral, 1 systems, 1 networking, 1 systems design)
Everyone was great, and the process was accommodating and pretty smooth, taking about 3 months total, though it could have been completed in a few weeks if I had preferred.
During the virtual onsite, although both the systems and networking interviews had a good conversational flow, there were several points where I couldn't go into enough depth. Also, while most of the questions focused on individual systems/components, there were instances where I completely missed the hint to switch gears and discuss large-scale monitoring/automation.

There are lots of indirect competitions, as everybody tries to produce impact.
